Similar technology, but I think you may unfortunately be wrong. The manufacturer of the NSW kit is Redflex, who are based in Victoria (rather than Gloucestershire, UK)
Interesting too that the UK company lists the accuracy of the device as +-3km or 1.5%, whichever is greater. Yet, the press is reporting that drivers in NSW will be convicted for driving only 4km/h over the limit. Except that, errr, they might be only 1km/h over the limit if the accuracy of the Redflex device is on par with the UK one... Edited by CameraShy - 21Jul2010 at 9:49pm |

Redflex or not, not all components are redflex. They source external hardware for a few things and put it all together in one system.
but with the tolerance in place you'd have to be at almost 10k over before you get done. |

Found a link to a video of the new Ford "Mobile Enforcement Vehicles."
http://player.video.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/#x5LvojijeXBUvaSv_5_VZASYcXe9cdC1 I queried AGD Systems in the U.K. today and they confirm they have supplied Redflex with the AGD 340 unit, which is a slant radar unit with a planar antenna on top of the van which shoots across the road at about 22 degrees. K Band. The detection gear in the new NSW Ford Territory vans seems to be all cobbled together from different manufacturers. Edited by tromso - 11Aug2010 at 12:13am |
